Second Quarter Profits Jump

l Church & Dwight Co Inc., maker of Arm & Hammer baking soda and deodorant, said second quarter profits rose 31% due to cost cuts as it integrated two acquisitions and raised its full-year earnings estimates. The company posted profit of $24.6 million, compared with $18.7 million a year earlier.
